Rise of the Vulcanites: Phase II, Indulgence

This sculptural performance event at Franconia Sculpture Park happened in 2002 and is the second iteration of the performance utilizing sculptural molds in a ritual of transformation. The title, Rise of the Vulcanites: Phase II, Indulgence, references the physical rise of the sculpture in space as well as the rise of civilizations based on industry and the use of ferrous metals. Indulgence refers to gratifying the pyro-maniacal tendencies of the makers.
